Scope & Content More than 75 letters from 1862 to 1865 from (or to) EWB (Erastus Williams Burnham). Letters marked with an asterisk (*) were received after the original collection was donated. Letters marked with two asterisks (**) were photocopies of letters not already in the collection and were donated by members of the Burnham family in November 2015. Each folder contains the original letter and a transcription, with the exception of those letters marked **, the file of which contains just the photocopy of the letter and a transcription.

It describes things that did not occur until April. This was substantiated through other research after a discussion with Charles Sullivan, Professor Emeritus and Archivist, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.)
