Levi Lincoln Felt was born in New York City on November 25, 1849 and died at his home in Wapping, Connecticut on December 8, 1912. He was the son of Festus C. Felt and Mary Lincoln King Felt. On November 10, 1875 Levi married Edna Louise Chapin of Suffield, Connecticut at New York City. They had two children. Marion was born on October 12, 1876, and William Hunter was born on June 7, 1878. Both were born at Hartford, Connecticut. Edna L. Felt died in Hartford on September 24, 1888.
Levi Lincoln Felt was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut from 1864 to June 1912. When he began work there, it consisted only of James G. Batterson, president, Rodney C. Dennis, secretary, and John E. Morris, bookkeeper, and later secretary. In 1874, Levi became cashier of the Accident Department, and in March 1899, he was elected comptroller of the company. When he retired from the Travelers in 1912, he was the senior employee of the company.
Mary Pamela Felt, Levi's only sister, married John E. Morris on May 15, 1867 at Hartford, Connecticut. She resided in Hartford throughout her married life.
