Description |
Two page form with photocopy of picture of the house on second page. The house was built about 1847 by the Reverend Levi Smith who was pastor First Congregational Church 1840-1849. Reverend Smith tore down house where Dr. Mather and Dr. Elijah Reed had lived. After Reverend Levi died in 1854, the house was owned by Dr. Sidney Rockwell. Next owners were James Rockwell and his sister Anna Gaylord Rockwell, followed by Anton Karanek and then Charles and Ann Keen who bought the house in 1961. Survey by Katherine Tudor Deming and Edward Pelton Green states "Green to Taft to Altschuler to Hart, Ashmore, Keen." There is detailed genealogical information on Dr. Mather, Dr. Rockwell, Dr. Reed. |
