Description |
Three page photocopy of typed and handwritten card reports that Abner Reed lived here and was an engraver and teacher with several apprentices whose work has been associated with the history of engraving. The old "pull" hand press was used. Reed taught school in same school he had attended, which was across street from Union School The school had benches facing the wall for older children, while younger students sat in the center of the room. A man taught in the winter and a woman in the summer. |
