Description |
Photocopy of two typed cards stating house was built by "Noah and Elizabeth Wells in 1789 on land deeded to them by Oliver Justice and Mary Day." Jesse Charlton bought the house in 1804 and had a shop north of the house. Charlton also ran the Hill Store. In 1958, there was a bad fire and the Doran's restored the house. Second page is photocopy of reverse side of note card stating that Charlton's daughter was Mrs. George Bancroft who lived in house for a few years and then sold to Jermiah McGrath. |
