Description |
This is a CD-ROM of 106 scanned photographs of South Windsor brickyards, the housing surrounding some of the brickyards in which workers and their families lived, and buildings made with South Windsor bricks. The South Windsor Historical Society owns the originals of these images. They were donated to the South Windsor Historical Society by Joseph Bonito of Windsor Locks in 2006, and were identified by Merwin Pola in 2006. The scanning and labels were done by Mike Salvatore in 2006. The photographs show Pola, K-F, Kelsey-Ferguson, and Redland Brick Companies. Many of the brickyard workers who lived on-site in the company housing were African American. Some of the photographs were taken by C. Crawford Brewer |
