ca. 1930 |
Description |
Black and white reprint of a 1930s era photograph of the P.E. Bossen store on Main Street in South Windsor, showing the storefront and gas pumps in front of the building. The caption on the back, written by Barney Daley, reads, "We would wait here for trolley for transportation to East Hartford High during the late 1920s. Here would come live chicks and fruit trees as well as other goods in their season. More trading of tobacco, more tales of hunting and fishing, politics and lies were told at this round stone step than anywhere else in town. Many wore spode beads and remembered the Civil War." |
