Description |
Black and white photograph of a two-story, wood-frame house, owned by the Buckland Family, at the corner of Buckland Road and Deming Street. There is a white picket fence around the yard. A young woman stand inside the fence and two small children stand outside the fence. There is a barn visible to the right of the house. The caption on the back reads, "1902 - Buckland Farm House. Great Grandmother Birdsey, Grandmother Jeannett Buckland, Mother Harriet Buckland Johnson, Clynton Buckland." The house, at 395 Buckland Road, was owned by Connecticut State senator Clynton Buckland and later leased to a funeral home director and later to a tombstone carver. An October 30, 1982 Hartford Courant article claimed that the house was haunted. [This photograph belongs to the South Windsor Historical Society.
