5 piece pewter communion service set includes: An American pewter hinge-lidded tankard- tapered-tubular body having ring-molded waist and molded footrim. "S"-scrolled handle with scrolled thumbpiece. Base impressed with mark of Thomas D. and Sherman Boardman of Hartford, Ct. working circa 1820-1860 who made this tankard for the Old Baptist Church of South Windsor in about 1835. A pair of American pewter double-handled cups each having tubular beaker body with slightly flaring rim, heavily-molded foot, and twin applied handles. Maker was Thomas D. Boardman of Hartford, Ct. circa 1835: A pair of American pewter circular plates, each with molded trim. Maker, Thomas D. Boardman of Hartford, Ct circa 1835. |
