Photocopy of typed note card, handwritten in red at bottom "Helen Pelton Card File," reports that Chandler Ward built this house about 1870 after tearing down the Eliphant Chapin house. Later the house was willed to Elizabeth Pelton, town librarian, who lived there until her death. Copy included. |
