The Post Office was established at East Windsor Hill on December 31,1810 with Aaron Bissell appointed as the first postmaster. It is one of the oldest continuously operating post offices in the United States. The building is "T" shaped with a long, single-story on southern side. The gambrel-roof portion is three bays wide with center door on both the first and second stories. The original store was built in 1757 by Jeremiah Ballard. Later, David Bissell III expanded the store to include a shop and storehouse. The names of the postmasters is included.
